When things get hot

With the RF682T, Siemens is expanding its RFID system Simatic RF600 to include a high-temperature transponder for use in harsh industrial environments exposed to temperatures of up to 220 degrees Celsius. The siliconefree transponder is based on ISO 18000-6C and thanks to its broadband design the transponder can be used in numerous countries.

Siemens is supplementing its UHF(Ultra High Frequency) RFID system Simatic RF600 to include the transponder RF682T, which can be used at temperatures up to 220 degrees Celsius. This level of heat resistance combined with its high degree of protection of IP68/IPx9K makes this silicone-free transponder suitable for use in harsh industrial environments with high temperature exposure such as laundries and paint shops.

The new transponder RF682T based on ISO 18000-6C comes with a 32 byte Electronic Product Code (EPC) plus a 384 byte user memory. The broadband design of the transponder means it can be used in numerous countries. The transponder can be read by the proven RFID readers of the Simatic RF600 system.
