Siemens showcases IoT-based Condition Monitoring system

In cooperation with Bluvision, Siemens has developed one of the first IoT (Internet of Things)-based condition monitoring systems which features global scalability, quick implementation and simple integration into other products within the MindSphere ecosystem. To make this possible, Bluvision’s Machine Learning-enabled Condition Monitoring solution has been integrated into the Siemens MindSphere.

Bluvision, part of HID Global, is a leading provider of real-time condition monitoring solutions. Together with the  bluetooth specialist, Siemens has now developed the first Condition Monitoring System (CMS) based on the Internet of Things (IoT) for a customer operating in the field of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG). The system consists of Bluvision’s CMS being integrated into MindSphere, the cloud-based open IoT platform from Siemens.

Jointly advancing Industrie 4.0

In real-time, CMS tracks the multiple states of motors, receives telemetry info on assets and triggers real-time alerts in the event of disruptions in operational procedures. Through its connection to MindSphere, the big data collected with CMS can be analyzed and then utilized as smart data. The holistic solution reduces the maintenance effort of the entire plant and reduces downtime.
