Logistics transports supplies and products just-in-time to where they are needed. Whether in transports, within the warehouse or on the factory floor, logistics processes become more expedient, more efficient, and more transparent by leveraging contactless identification. Via wireless IoT and cloud integration, the entire supply chain can be optimised across companies. This blog contains reports and use cases from users who have optimised their logistics operations with RFID and wireless IoT technologies.

Shared services and UHF RFID technology are the basis of a concept for a globally standardised process.

In order to fulfil the increasing demands in the field of intralogistics, Volkswagen Group already successfully deploys RFID technology in various applications for many years. The company developed a concept for a globally standardised process for the registration of load carriers, specifically for load carrier management.

The Norwegian logistics company supplies 190 stores of the full-service retailer Coop Norge and enhances efficiency through RFID

Norway has a road network of around 93,000 kilometers. By comparison, the German road network spans nearly 645,000 kilometers. However, the underdeveloped infrastructure causes specific planning necessities in transportation, especially but not exclusively in the north of Norway. From December to March the Saltfjell plateau is barely accessible due to strong snowfall. Fosen Transport has rolled out an RFID solution for the company‘s approximately 100 trucks, including pallet management in order to improve transport logistics. „RFID & Wireless IoT Global“ has spoken with Kathrin Fründt from Fosen about the solution and the resulting benefits.

The future of RFID enabled moving

Where exactly is my roll container located? Where can I find my moving boxes? For movers it is essential to keep track of all of their assets. In order to provide better service to its customers, Roldo Rent, a company specialised in the rental of moving equipment, implemented a new tracking system based on UHF RFID tags into its equipment with the help of the system integrator Mieloo & Alexander. The result is that the RFID solution easily tracks and locates moving items, thus simplifying the moving process for the company’s clients. Additionally, Roldo Rent also benefits from the implementation as its internal procedures are optimized as well.
