New SML GB4U8 RFID Inlay Delivers an Unrivaled Combination of Read Performance and Size for Item-Level RFID Retail Market

Retail RFID solutions provider SML introduced the first production ready small form factor RFID inlay for the retail industry using the super high sensitive RFID chip, UCODE 8, from NXP.

The GB4U8 RFID inlay, is fully compliant with GS1 EPC/RFID Gen2v2 standard, supports RAIN RFID with global UHF frequencies and meets the following Auburn University RFID Retailer Performance Specifications: Spec A, B, C, D, M, G, Q, F, and Spec N. GB4U8 RFID inlay, measuring only 42x16mm, is the first small format inlay in the RFID history to pass all active categories including F and N, making it ideal for use by omnichannel retailers in store and supply chain deployments around the world.

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is the largest integrated health and social care trust in the United Kingdom, providing health services to 340,000 citizens. Across its six record libraries, the Trust files, stores, retrieves and manages almost 4,000,000 health records.

In 2015, the Trust commissioned a Health Records Digitisation Strategy for its acute sites. RFID tracking and management of medical records was identified as an area in which investment in technology would drive a number of benefits and help the trust become paper-lite by 2020.

TWN4 MultiTech 2 HF and TWN4 MultiTech 2 LF are multi-standard RFID readers, which give device manufacturers flexibility when it comes to the transponders used by their customers.

TWN4 MultiTech 2 LF supports all common RFID standards for frequency ranges 125 kHz and 134.2 kHz, with TWN4 MultiTech 2 HF covering 13.56 MHz standards, including NFC.
