The Norwegian logistics company supplies 190 stores of the full-service retailer Coop Norge and enhances efficiency through RFID

Norway has a road network of around 93,000 kilometers. By comparison, the German road network spans nearly 645,000 kilometers. However, the underdeveloped infrastructure causes specific planning necessities in transportation, especially but not exclusively in the north of Norway. From December to March the Saltfjell plateau is barely accessible due to strong snowfall. Fosen Transport has rolled out an RFID solution for the company‘s approximately 100 trucks, including pallet management in order to improve transport logistics. „RFID & Wireless IoT Global“ has spoken with Kathrin Fründt from Fosen about the solution and the resulting benefits.

RFID + Wireless IoT Global

The brand “RFID & Wireless IoT Global” unites wireless IoT know-how in expert articles, news and exclusive use cases from all over the world.

The “RFID & Wireless IoT Global” print magazine

Four times per year, our print magazine is published with over 50 pages, filled to the brim with information and know-how. We report on technological developments and use cases, among others in the form of extensive success stories from industrial manufacturing, logistics and supply chain, retail, security, and healthcare.

Together with the print magazine, a digital issue is published four times per year. All information about the digital and physical issues' contents is shared via the LinkedIn and Twitter networks. 90 percent of the magazine's content are based on personal interviews of our editorial staff with international press and project responsibles, CEOs and technology experts.

Two Guides and an upcoming online product search engine

In addition to the four magazines, the publishing house annually presents its Company & Application Guide, as well as the Product Guide as important additions to the know-how universe of “RFID & Wireless IoT Global”. The guides are compendiums and represent concentrated knowledge in select success stories and technology articles. With extensive presentations of companies and products, the guides also serve as door openers to the world of RFID & Wireless IoT. Both guides are published online and in print. Why publish a print version in 2017 at all? Because these are books destined for practical uses – handbooks to support project managers with their tasks.

Shortly, this offering will be expanded by an online product search engine. This way, we offer new possibilities to inform yourself in-depth about the broad spectrum of hardware and software for RFID and wireless IoT solutions. Stay tuned!

Who we are

Started in 2014 as a sister magazine of “RFID im Blick”

The first english-language issues for our international readership were direct translations of our German-language magazine “RFID im Blick” – from our content to our layout. In 2016, the first independent international magazine was published for international release - “RFID im Blick Global”. The next milestone came in 2017 with a name change – the international magazine is now named “RFID & Wireless IoT Global”. The title reflects a redefining of our content: RFID technology is still at the centre of our reporting. But from 2017 on forward, we will also look beyond technological limitations and examine full world of wireless IoT.

Why RFID AND Wireless IoT?

The answer is easy: The possibilities of connecting, transferring, processing and analysing data, the capacities and resources, the connection of sensors, as well as standards and product portfolios have continually evolved. RFID and NFC are two of the most important building blocks within the foundations of chip-based, contactless data transfer. Other technology options such as BLE, GPS, Wireless Sensing, SAW, WSN, or GSM expand the portfolio for IoT applications. These technologies are essential to gather and process wireless data to the IoT.

The complete know-how live on stage

The international conference “RFID & Wireless IoT tomorrow” brings all of our competencies to the grand stage on two days of the year – for seven years and counting. On September 27 and 28 of 2017, over 70 speakers in 9 forums will report on technologies, applications, research and rollouts. The exhibition and evening event provide optimal possibilities of networking with over 50 international RFID & wireless IoT companies and of course the speakers themselves.
